Production Patch Signal Lost
Production patch, signal lost is the deploy and then the silence. A production patch is the fix that goes straight to the live system, usually a hotfix that skipped the queue because the outage would not wait. Signal lost comes from spaceflight, where loss of signal is the moment telemetry stops arriving, as it did on schedule when Apollo 8 became the first crewed flight to pass behind the Moon in 1968.
Every engineer who has shipped a hotfix knows the minutes after it: the dashboards go quiet, the person who pushed it stops answering in the incident channel, and nobody can tell yet whether the silence is good news.
