Lightly Cursed
Lightly cursed is the mild grade of cursed, the internet's word since the cursed images blogs of the mid-2010s for something that is wrong in a way nobody can quite explain. Developers adopted it for code: the function that only works with a debug log left in, the test that passes on the second run, the build that fails once a week for no reason anyone has found. Lightly cursed is the stage before anyone opens a ticket, when everyone has noticed and nobody wants to be the one to look.
Some hauntings are dramatic; this one is not. Engineers who have carried a flaky build, a haunted staging environment or a defect that only appears on Fridays know the temperament: things have gone slightly wrong, the wrongness is probably permanent, and panic would be unprofessional. On a t-shirt, understatement reads as confidence, and this is understatement all the way down.
