We'll fix it in post is a film-production phrase: when something goes wrong on set and there is no time for another take, the crew promises to repair it in post-production, the editing that happens after shooting wraps. Ship it is the developer's half, the call to release whatever is ready when the date arrives. Put together, the bug becomes a problem for a later sprint, the way a bad take becomes a problem for the editor.
The release date was committed to before the feature was finished, and the edge case found in testing went to the backlog to meet it. For developers who've deployed something they knew wasn't fully ready, product managers who've defined ready to mean the happy path works, and engineering managers who've learned to calibrate between perfect and shipped. In post means the next sprint, possibly the sprint after, realistically whenever the ticket outranks the next feature.
