Security engineering: you shall not pass puts Gandalf's line from the bridge of Khazad-dûm in the mouth of the access-control team. In The Fellowship of the Ring, Gandalf holds a narrow bridge against the Balrog so the others can escape; Tolkien's 1954 text has him say you cannot pass, and Peter Jackson's 2001 film made it you shall not pass, the version everyone quotes. A security engineer's job has the same shape: one narrow way in, and a firm no for anything that has not been authorised to cross.
The firewall is configured, the authentication middleware has been reviewed, the session cookies carry the Secure and HttpOnly flags, and the old endpoint is gone from the routing table.
