Kubernetes is just Docker with control issues: Docker packages an app into a container and runs it, and Kubernetes decides where every container runs, how many there are and when they restart, whether you asked or not. The step from one to the other is pods, services, deployments and a lot of YAML. Since Kubernetes 1.24 the cluster no longer even runs Docker underneath, and it still wants to control everything.
For DevOps engineers and SREs who've spent time debugging why their cluster decided to reschedule everything at 3 AM. Docker runs the containers; the cluster decides where they go. Works when you want to wear something that acknowledges the complexity without pretending it's not worth it.
