I for one welcome our new AI overlords is the AI-era version of a line from The Simpsons. In the 1994 episode Deep Space Homer, news anchor Kent Brockman watches an ant float past a space shuttle camera, decides giant insects have taken over, and says "I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords"; the internet has been swapping in the newest overlord ever since. The AI version was first forwarded as a meme, and two years later it appeared in a company roadmap as a competitive advantage.
This shirt is for engineers who've watched the AI investment slide get more optimistic every quarter, integrated tools that work until they confidently don't, and sat in a meeting where someone called prompt engineering a skill gap to close. The overlords arrived via API and deployed gradually, autocompleting code before moving on to the PR description.
