Code freeze? Never heard of her borrows the internet's favourite dismissal, the never heard of her meme, used for anything the speaker would rather pretend does not exist. A code freeze is the stretch before a major release or a holiday peak when nothing new goes to production except critical fixes, announced in the team channel and accepted as a calendar invite. The shirt treats it as a rumour.
Code freeze exists as a concept the way no changes in production on Fridays exists as a concept: aspirational, widely communicated, and routinely ignored when someone has a feature that absolutely has to go out before the holiday. This shirt is for the developer who has committed to production during a freeze, the engineering manager who technically approved it, and the DevOps engineer who got paged at 11 PM because of it. The PR was small; the rollback took four hours.
