Q4 is over. The freeze was announced in the team channel. The calendar invite was accepted. Then someone opened a PR anyway. Code freeze exists as a concept the way no changes in production on Fridays exists as a concept: aspirational, widely communicated, and routinely ignored when someone has a feature that absolutely has to go out before the holiday. This shirt is for the developer who has committed to production during a freeze, the engineering manager who technically approved it, and the DevOps engineer who got paged at 11 PM because of it. Nobody reads the freeze announcement email. Everyone blames the person who deployed. The freeze was always more of a guideline. The PR was small. The rollback took four hours.

Love the humor, but am a bit dissapointed as to the quality of the fabric. Won’t survive more than 4-5 washes in a machine, even with the gentlest of washes and choices of detergents.

I lead a software development team where all developers use Claude Code, so all the guys instantly got what the t-shirt was about. By the way, it helped me introduce some ironic criticism to some I-know-it-all project manager's statements without even speaking: I just had to point my finger at the t-shirt I was wearing to shut their mouth up. Utterly satisfying.
